Another day in Resolute and another day solely focused on the little details that will hopefully give us even the smallest advantage against the overwhelming odds that we will face on the Arctic Ocean.

Because our flight to Cape Discovery isn't scheduled for another five days, we have a bit of breathing room to finish the last of our expedition preparations. Still, that doesn't mean it's all kick back and relax. We spent a solid 12 hours straight (yeah we timed ourselves - not sure why but we did it) making the important modifications to gear that we didn't have time to finish in Boulder. Here are a few of the many tasks that we did today:

-Install new custom MSR snowshoe bindings with special cold tolerant straps. -Reattached tent fly to inner tent, test custom 'chimney' -cut 'mouth hole' in neoprene face mask -bolt runner plastic (which we purposely left longer to protect the back of sled) to the back of the sled. -tied butterfly knots in tug lines -cut off buckles of Alfa Extreme ski boots

It was nice to get lost in the these details and forget - and least for today's 12 hours of work - the huge burden of what we are trying to do. In a few days, we will be on the and the comfort of the South Camp inn and the day we spent switching out zipper pulls will feel like a life time away.
