We said goodbye to Peter and Tshering this morning and made our way once more across the Trakarding glacier. Go Paul, Dorje and helped ferry loads to our high point from yesterday and then turned around as well.

Now it's just Ryan and I, big mountains, glaciers and lots of rocks.

We had initially thought we might take the afternoon as a rest day; however, we are already behind schedule so we took advantage of the clear skies and continued to ferry loads up toward the Drolambao Glacier nearly 1,000 feet of elevation higher.

We scrambled and clawed our way for several hours stringing together a series of narrow shelves and gulleys toward the top. Eventually, a narrow ridge line connected to the glacier and we were once again faced with another rock slog. This time it was difficult to make good progress as the glacier is more broken up as it 'pours' over the mountain face.

We got to a relative high point dropped our gear, filled our water bottles and MSR dromedary bag and headed back down. Down climbing in this terrain is dicey at best and we were constantly trying to avoid setting off larger rock slides. We made good time and an hour later we were back in our mountain side camp relaxing in our Therm-A-Rest Treo chairs happy as could be.

It is a huge relief to have gotten this far. None of this adventure has been easy. We've been hauling gear for nearly 10 days and we can't even see the peak we are hoping to climb.

But life is infinitely simpler now that it's just Ryan and I and we enjoyed a nice dinner of Mountain House Freeze dried and Pringles!
