I don't want to tell you what to do. Instead, I'll call it more of a suggestion. But, if you ever get the chance, are planning a vacation or find yourself in the area, visit Moab.
Moab and southeastern Utah have to be one of the most amazing places in the United States. Hiking, canoeing or whatevering around, I can only come up with words like ethereal, other worldly, or awe inspiring to describe the landscape here. It is so different than any other place and so glaringly opposite to the midwest.
My last week and a half have been a dream... hiking through canyonlands, canoeing down the Colorado, scrambling across the slickrock. It will be hard to leave this place.
Still, there is always another adventure. Tonight I will be in Boulder, CO speaking at Neptune Mountaineering. Tomorrow, speeding across the plains of Nebraska and Iowa. Adventures come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, all we have to do is seize the opportunity when it arrives.
Utah or under your porch, the world is waiting for you to discover it!
